• Aistear is the curriculum framework for children from birth to six years in Ireland. Parents play a key role in their children’s education. Effective early childhood settings and schools take account of the influence of the home on children’s learning and they build on the experience children bring to the setting or school.

  • The Child and Family Agency was established on the 1st January 2014 and is now the dedicated State agency responsible for improving wellbeing and outcomes for children.

  • All childcare providers, practitioners and H.S.E. notified childminders must avail of Garda Vetting for all their staff, students and volunteers, under the Child Care (Pre-school Services) Regulations 2006.

  • A County Wide support for all parents and families living in Fingal. It helps parents to develop promote parent-child relationships and supports optimal child development and positive behaviour.

  • The National Strategy to improve Literacy and Numeracy among children and young people 2011-2020.

  • The Children First Guidance launched on the 15th July, 2011 is National Guidance that promotes the protection of children from abuse and neglect. It states what organisations need to do to keep children safe, and what different bodies, and the general public should do if they are concerned about a child’s safety and welfare.

The Fingal County Childcare Committee was established in 2001 as one of the 33 County/City Childcare Committees that exist throughout the country, FCCC was formed to act in an advisory capacity to all childcare services in Fingal county, providing advice, information and assistance on a wide variety of topics in the childcare field.
