  • The Child and Family Agency was established on the 1st January 2014 and is now the dedicated State agency responsible for improving wellbeing and outcomes for children.

  • All childcare providers, practitioners and H.S.E. notified childminders must avail of Garda Vetting for all their staff, students and volunteers, under the Child Care (Pre-school Services) Regulations 2006.

  • The National Strategy to improve Literacy and Numeracy among children and young people 2011-2020.

  • The Children First Guidance launched on the 15th July, 2011 is National Guidance that promotes the protection of children from abuse and neglect. It states what organisations need to do to keep children safe, and what different bodies, and the general public should do if they are concerned about a child’s safety and welfare.
